We are all smart, that’s a fact I can agree with. But completing
someone else work or asking for help doesn’t make one stupid, especially when
it benefits all.
Yeah, you might be confused but don’t worry you won’t be
left behind.
There’s this trend in Nigeria, I feel it’s really making us
slack behind. It is the “I Too Know Trend”.
There is no continuity in our governments plan as everybody
knows all or that is what they want us to believe. Once a new administration comes into office then all the laid down
plans and even partially completed projects of that previous administration will
be put on hold for like ever by the new administration..
Another way this trend kills us is when our leaders refuse
to get help from experts on particular fields.
Let’s take our 2016 budget as an example. If our ministers
didn’t do the usual I Too Know stuff and looked for assistance from experts in
their fields the budget would have been more trustworthy and signed on time
with very little or no errors at all.
Nigeria is like a pot of soup cooked by so many people with
different taste and minds.
One wants to put salt before pepper, the other wants to add
rice to the pot soup etc. Imagine what that pot soup will look like or even
taste like.
Every being is unique and has a mind of its own. Nigeria is
like the pot of soup mention above, as soon as one person leaves the next comes
in with his own ideas. There is no continuity.
No project is ever completed. Why? Because no one wants to
complete what they didn’t start.
An administration spends time and money to develop plans and
then leaves office without completing it; the incoming administration will push
all the work the last administration did under a rug and begin developing his
own plans. This is so absurd and annoying. This is also why Nigeria is so
backward and has nothing to show as the giants of Africa.
- No Roads
- No Hospitals
- No Refineries
- No Good Schools
- No Infrastructures
- No Employment etc.
I ask; why do they sabotage our country? If an
administration plan is to construct roads, when he leaves office the incoming
administration should execute the plans of the last administration first before
starting new projects. This will bring about a systematic development, hereby improve
greatly our infrastructures and create employment opportunities.
Imagine a Nigeria with a good transport system (road, rail,
air, and water), well equipped hospitals, good schools etc. If everything is in
its right place and functioning perfectly well, then employment rate will
increase. As there will be more opportunities for the masses.
But this is a dream that is far to be realized. Because our leaders are ever greedy and
corrupt. I was made to understand that they start new projects in other to
create a means to steal money.
After much thought, it was clear to me.
- If the new administration continues with the project of the previous administration then there will hardly be a means to steal money.
- If they continued then they will have to continue with the contractors and this will not allow them give the contract to those they wish. (e.g family members, party members, even their own companies).
So they begin a new project so that they can easily siphon
money.
This is true as many new administration starts up new
projects that make no sense, especially when there are meaningful uncompleted
ones lying there.
Continuity will greatly improve our country’s economy,
infrastructure, employment etc. But will
our corrupt and greedy leaders want/allow that?
The Real Nigeria!!!
