If Our Leaders Listen And Answer Our Cries, Things Wouldn't Fall Apart. Nigeria Will Be A Better Place

The current situation in the Niger Delta is so sad and unbecoming. The bombing of pipelines by Niger Delta militants is having a great setback on our economical growth. It is no news that our 2016 budget is still dependent on oil and gas explorations, even despite Buhari's change agenda for our country's economy, which was aimed at diversifying from oil and gas. We are still greatly dependent on it. But that's not the aim of this post.

Back to the so called Niger Delta militants causing havoc;

Firstly, these so called militants were not born militants. In fact they had dreams, goals,  aspirations etc, which is a fact I like to point out whenever I see young Nigerians doing horrific things and causing havoc.

I schooled in Port Harcourt and I can say they are not all bad. There's good in them, there's potential, determination and zeal too. But when food is taken from your mouth and this is done by those in power.

Who do you report to?
Can you report a thief to a criminal?
No!!! You know why?

Simple; nothing will be done.  It's like pouring water into a basket or sieve. It's a waste of time, energy and resource.

When their cries and pleas are not heard talk less of being answered the only way is through violence. This is the only voice Nigeria and the World would listen and respond.

What they are asking for is a means to survive. It's so painful when food is taken from your very before.

Lemme give you an instance; Your father buys foodstuffs for the house and your mum instead of allowing you cook the stuffs to eat decides to sell all of them to strangers, thereby leaving you to starve. What will you do?

This is exactly what is happening in communities of these so called militants. How would a community have oil and yet the people in those communities are unemployed, they are starving and suffering. While some persons in high positions are constantly enjoying and flourishing from the same oil in their communities.

If there is a case of oil spillage, the people benefiting from the oil are not affected as they don't live in this communities. While the indigents of these communities are left to suffer the after effects of the oil spills. Plus the starvation from not benefiting from their rights.

Some may say that the indigents of these communities benefit from the slots the oil exploration companies give them. True,  but that's if the indigent are employed in these companies.

These slots are given to the indigents but through the chiefs/heads of the community. Due to the greed of Nigerians, these chiefs sell out the community slots to strangers (people not from that community), while the true indigents are left to starve and suffer from the pollution and every other hazard.

When they cry out no one answers, no one listens to them. Man and the world at large respond faster to violence. So they reign havoc to be heard. In return they are called militants, but our leaders forget that if they had done their jobs right we wouldn't have been in this mess.

But our leaders can't do their jobs right, they can't stand for the truth, they don't have the power/guts.

You know why?  Cos they have skeletons in their cupboards and would not want it to be opened to the world, so they keep shut.

The Real Nigeria!!!
