So after a long day of poor feeding due to inflated prices and no electricity, I decided to surf the internet and coincidentally stumbled on this headline;
"Nigeria Representatives Wants Killers Of Nigerian Boy In South Africa Persecuted".
Amazed at the hypocrisy of our Upper house leaders I clicked to read further.
Apparently,
"Mr. Obinna Ugboaja was killed on Jan. 5 by the police for allegedly swallowing drugs on arrest. On that faithful day, Obinna was arrested by the police on the allegation that he was in possession of drugs; the police claimed that he tried to swallow the drug when arrested. `
The victim was forcefully put in the police vehicle and assaulted inside the police van and at the police station, 30 minutes after his arrest, Obinna died in the police custody.
This is truly sad, an justice must be served.
Back to why I called our upper house leaders all hypocrites;
As the saying goes "Remove the spake from your eyes before removing it from your neighbors eyes".
Similar cases occur in Nigeria, even worse. Example of some reported cases which have resulted to loss of lives:
- Just last month, over 20 biafra protesters were shot by military personnels in Abia State. NOTE; They were not armed neither had they begun their protest. They had just arrived the town hall and were praying, when these soldiers and JTF (joint task force) officials showed up and sprayed bullets. killing over 20 and hospitalizing even more.
- Earlier this week some elderly women in Delta State were chased and beaten by our military force for protesting against a land which have been in dispute. Apparently, the land was given to an oil and gas firm, but this women were unhappy about it, so they decided to protest. On getting to the site, the soldiers asked them to leave but they refused, insisting to speak to a representative of the firm. Then the officer in charge brought out his gun and threaten to shoot, but the women stood their grounds and were still unmoved, he then order the soldiers under his command to chase and beat them. These were women aged 20years to over 80years and they were beaten mercilessly.
- Over 40 children have died in Lagos State and Abuja from a mysterious illness, till date the cause of their deaths is still a mystery.
Yet our hypocritical and VAPID minded house leaders have said nothing about these deaths happening right under their noses.
We have even more deaths occurring locally daily, the innocent poor youths keep rotting in jail for crimes they didn't commit, some even die there. Still our leaders say and do nothing.
But when it comes to international matters, they all act holier than thou...
They should first care and speak for us here in Nigeria, before they pretend to care for those in Diaspora.
Or better still, they should just sit there, do nothing and just get paid till their tenure is over.
Because the only explanation to why the deaths of Nigerians in Nigeria mean nothing to them, but the deaths of the same Nigerians in Diaspora is so important, is simple, it is just what they want the international eyes/community to believe. That they care, but it's just pretense.
It Is Hypocrisy!!!
Therefore; They Are All HYPOCRITES!!!
The Real Nigeria...
