As the bible says "We were born into sin". Same way in Nigeria "We are born into corruption".
Ours is a society where corruption is a culture.
A person encounters corruption at every point in life, which he must involve in other to progress/thrive.
From elementary school where teachers favor kids from wealthy homes, and are less concerned about those from poor homes.
This impacts the knowledge of bribery at a very tender age into the young ones.
This young minds continue to secondary and tertiary institutions with this same philosophy.
Paying their teachers to get good grades..
What's most shameful is the fact that highly respected lecturers in the tertiary institutions stoop so low to extort money from students before passing them.
It doesn't end there;
They eventually graduate and enter the labour market. Searching for employment.
Employment they have to buy..
You may wonder buy? How?
1: They pay a sum of money before they get employed.
2: They get employed but pay a percentage of their salaries to who ever helps them get the job.
At this point your so entangled in corruption that breaking free is difficult. As you would want to make ten times more the amount you have spent... Leading you to fraudulent activities.
Fact: At some point in the life of a Nigerian he must face corruption and may even indulged in it. All to make money.
That's The Real Nigeria...
