The All Progressives Congress members of
the House of Representatives clashed with their Peoples Democratic
Party colleagues on Thursday over the Minister of Transportation, Mr.
Rotimi Amaechi.
Amaechi appeared before the joint
Committee on Marine/Land Transport to defend the 2016 budget proposals
of the ministry, but the lawmakers tried to turn the session into a
venue for political party supremacy battle.
The APC members, who control the
majority of 213, out of the 360-member legislature, felt that the former
Rivers State governor deserved some protection from the committee, as
he came under a barrage of questions.
The APC lawmakers complained that too many questions were being thrown at the minister.
Its obvious that the APC members in the House of Representatives are more obliged to the interests of their party than that of Nigeria.
How can they say that too many questions were being asked? Questions that will make Nigerians understand what is in the budget.
This is not the first time its happening. Also, during the ministerial screening we could see how our senators made of fool of Nigeria. Shout "Bow and Go" even before questions were asked.
The members of the houses of our legislative arm vote on bills as a party and not individuals. Seems our political parties rule Nigeria. Cos, if a party head says no to a bill, every member of that party in the house vote in accordance.
Conclusion; Our political leaders value their parties over Nigeria's interests.
The Real Nigeria...
