Who Is More Foolish, Nigeria or Nigerians?

Some Nigerians Could Just Be As Foolish As Nigeria.

The story below of an incident which happened some days ago will shock you, when your done reading it, then you will understand what I mean.

There was pandemonium at Unguwar Ma’azu a suburb of Kaduna metropolis on Saturday as a Tanker carrying Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) exploded at a NNPC Mega II filling station killing three persons.

The incident which also left about 15 persons injured and 17 vehicles burnt occurred around 7pm on Saturday.

According to The Nation Newspaper an eye witness said, “aside the three people who were burnt to death, about 15 others were injured.” They were rushed to Al-Tattbiq Islamic Hospital there in Kaduna.

According to him, “the incident occurred when they were preparing for prayers at about 7pm.

He said the tanker which was filled with petrol. Arrived the mega station and began to off-loaded the product, the PMS (fuel or petro) started spilling from the tanker passing underneath other vehicles queued up, waiting to buy fuel.

“When this spillage was noticed, people were cautioned not to switch on their vehicles until the fuel dried off, but a man in a Golf 3 vehicle was said to have switched on his car and fire broke out.

According to the eyewitness, “it was so pathetic as the driver of the Golf car who did not heed to the warning did not live to tell the story. He got burnt beyond recognition inside his car.”

He further said that about 17 vehicles on queue were completely burnt before fire service personnel arrived the scene.

It was reported that the 15 injured people are now receiving treatment at the hospital. But the situation is so bad because those at the hospital sustained serious degree of burnt and no serious medical attention is being given to them since the hospital lacks equipment.

May their souls rest  in perfect peace.

But If you ask me, I will say the man was just foolish.

This should serve as a lesson to everyone out there, not just Nigerians. Lets listen and try to obey simple rules/instructions. If he had heeded to their advice, then this incident would have been avoided.

Most of the accidents which results to loss of lives and properties in Nigerian are all caused by people who refuse to adhere to simple rules and instructions.

Who is to blame here? No one but ourselves. It's time we sat up and stop being foolish... Lets prevent those things we can, and let the government do theirs.

  • Although why should a tanker owned by the Government be in such a bad state? No proper maintenance, yet money is definitely being disbursed for that. Instead of protecting lives and properties someone, somewhere is diverting the funds, putting the lives of the masses at risk.
    "Is That Not FOOLISHNESS?"

  • As for the state of the hospital, that's Nigeria for you. 'Where Nothing Is Ever Done Well.' 'Where Nothing Is Ever Completed or Up To Standard.' "Is That Not FOOLISHNESS?"
With these stated out, I ask:- Who Is More Foolish, Nigeria or Nigerians?

The Real Nigeria!!!
